Michael Hebbert has played the concertina since 1958, making all sorts of music with all kinds of musical friends. He’s played horas in Israel, jotas in Castille, waltzes busking in Oslo, reels and jigs for dances in village halls in Oxfordshire, Brazilian boss nova and Serbian dances with Vladimir Jankovic in Manchester, Irish slow airs with fleadh-winning Patrick Devine-Wright, show songs with Andrew Frank at folk clubs and festivals round the UK, concertina duets with duet concertina genius Iris Bishop, songs by and with poet Paddy O’Sullivan, hymns for weddings and funerals, music hall with Matthew Crampton for Sidmouth Folk Week 2017, Playford dance music with Christine Dyer for Sidmouth 2018: and lots more.
